Watch Repair

No matter how well-made your watch is, it will require care if you want it to keep running. Many watches come with a standard warranty of only two years. After that period is up, you’ll be charged an out-of-pocket fee for any repairs that your watch needs. While some things are inexpensive, such as replacing a battery, other repairs can be quite costly.

How much servicing a watch will cost is based on the cost of the watch; generally, the more expensive the watch, the more expensive it is to fix. This is because luxury watches require expert care and specialized replacement parts in order to restore them to the same standards to which they were built. Because watches have very delicate mechanisms, we recommend that you do not attempt to repair or clean it yourself; instead, bring it to a specialist.

Our master craftsman jeweler has over twenty years of experience in repairing jewelry and watches, as well as conducting jewelry appraisals. Our two stores in Yardley, PA, and Fairless Hills, PA, are just a short drive from many towns in the Bucks County, PA, area, including Langhorne, PA, Levittown, PA, Newtown, PA, and other surrounding communities.

Bands

As you take your watch off and on, the band will eventually begin to wear out. Consequently, this is one of the most frequently repaired watch parts. Leather bands, in particular, tend to wear out more quickly than metal ones. A replacement leather band can cost anywhere from $10 to $100, while restoring a metal bracelet can run from $25 to $75. Changing the band can also be a relatively inexpensive way of updating your favorite timepiece.

Batteries

It is an inevitability that you will need to replace the battery in your watch at some point. Batteries are quite modestly priced, typically costing between $10 and $20. Many watches require specialized tools to open and replace the battery. When you bring your watch to us, we can change the battery for you in a matter of minutes. On average, expect a quartz battery to last two to seven years.

Replacement

If your watch cost $100 or less and needs costly repairs, it may not be worth fixing. Expect to pay $20 to $125 to repair a cracked crystal and $20 to $50 to fix a broken crown or stem. If your watch cost $1,000 or more, always take the watch to an authorized retailer or directly to the manufacturer to be serviced. A top-to-bottom going-over may cost anywhere from $100 to $500, but it is worth the investment to properly care for an expensive timepiece.
